Al Wakrah Old Souq stands as one of Qatar’s most significant tourist destinations, blending rich history with cultural charm. Nestled in Al Wakrah, the country’s second-oldest city, the souq is just 10 km from Hamad International Airport, offering visitors a seamless journey of only 15 minutes by car. Built on the historic ruins of Al Wakrah’s Old Town—estimated to be over 200 years old—the souq preserves the legacy of a city that has witnessed countless historical events. Officially inaugurated in 2016, it spans an impressive 623,765 square meters and comprises 415 restored traditional houses. Uniquely positioned along the eastern side of Al Wakrah Beach, which stretches 1,237 meters, it holds the distinction of being Qatar’s only heritage market with a breathtaking seafront setting.
